THEME: WISDOM IS HIGHLY NEEDED!
TEXT: [NLT] JAMES 1:7
"If you need wisdom--if you want to know what God wants you to do--ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking."
One of the greatest needs of every human being is wisdom. Life is filled with decisions, opportunities, challenges, relationships, and responsibilities that require more than knowledge or intelligence. You may possess academic qualifications, professional experience, financial resources, and great talents, but without wisdom, you may struggle to make the right decisions and maximize the opportunities available to you. Knowledge tells you what is available, but wisdom teaches you what to do with what is available. Knowledge helps you gather information, but wisdom enables you to apply that information appropriately. Intelligence may help you understand a situation, but wisdom helps you respond to it in a way that produces the right outcome. This is why wisdom is highly needed.
Sometimes, the greatest mistake we make is assuming that we already know enough to handle every situation. We become so confident in our abilities, experiences, and opinions that we forget our need for divine direction. However, Proverbs 3:5–6 teaches us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean entirely on our understanding. When we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He directs our paths. Beloved, there are decisions you cannot afford to make carelessly. There are relationships that require wisdom to manage, opportunities that require wisdom to evaluate, battles that require wisdom to approach, and seasons that require wisdom to navigate. Not every open door is an opportunity you should pursue, and not every closed door is a tragedy. Sometimes, wisdom is recognizing when to move forward, when to wait, when to speak, when to remain silent, when to act, and when to withdraw. Wisdom is knowing what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and why you should do it.
You may not understand every situation confronting you, but you can ask God for the wisdom to navigate it. You may not have all the answers today, but you can trust God to guide you as you seek Him. Never allow pride to stop you from asking God for wisdom. Never allow your past successes to convince you that you no longer need divine direction. The more responsibilities you carry, the more you need God's wisdom. As you go through this day, make wisdom your priority. Ask God to guide your thoughts, decisions, conversations, relationships, and actions. May you receive the wisdom to recognize the right opportunities, avoid costly mistakes, respond appropriately to difficult situations, and fulfill God's purpose for your life. Remember, wisdom is highly needed, and God is willing to give it to you when you ask Him in faith and seek to walk in His ways.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You because You are the source of all true wisdom.
Father, Please grant me the wisdom to know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it according to Your will.
Father, Deliver me from foolish decisions, wrong judgments, destructive relationships, and costly mistakes.
Father, Open my understanding to recognize opportunities that align with Your purpose for my life. Father, Teach me when to speak and when to remain silent, when to move and when to wait, and how to respond to every situation in a manner that glorifies You.
