THEME: THE DEVIL'S WORKS HAS BEEN DESTROYED!
TEXT: [NKJV] 1 JOHN 3:8
"He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."
The manifestation of Jesus Christ on earth was not an accident, neither was His coming merely to give humanity a good example to follow. The Son of God was manifested for a divine purpose: to destroy the works of the devil. From the beginning, Satan has been an enemy of God's purposes for humanity. He introduced sin into the human experience, deceived mankind, brought condemnation, promoted bondage, and sought to frustrate God's plan for people's lives. But when Jesus came, He came as the answer to everything the enemy had introduced.
The Bible declares clearly that “the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” This means that whatever the devil has built against your life is not beyond the power of Christ to dismantle. Jesus did not come merely to manage the works of the devil; He came to destroy them. The word “destroy” carries the idea of breaking down, undoing, dissolving, rendering ineffective, and bringing to an end. Therefore, the works of darkness do not have the final authority over the life of a person who has placed his or her faith in Christ. Where the devil sought to destroy destiny, Christ came to restore God's purpose. This is why the believer must never live with a mentality of defeat. Your confidence is not in your ability to fight the devil; your confidence is in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
One of the greatest strategies of the enemy is to make people believe that their present situation is permanent. But your present condition does not have the authority to determine your future when Christ is involved. The devil may have started something, but he cannot finish what Christ has destined to end. He may have brought a battle, but he cannot cancel God's purpose. He may have created an affliction, but he cannot overrule the authority of Christ. He may have introduced confusion, but Jesus remains the Prince of Peace. He may have attempted to imprison your destiny, but the Son has the power to set you free. You must therefore refuse to magnify the works of darkness above the power of God. What Christ came to destroy cannot be allowed to continue ruling your life.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to destroy the works of the devil. Thank You because the enemy does not have the final authority over my life.
Father, Destroy every remaining work of darkness operating against my life and let every area of my life come under the government of Your Word and Your Spirit.
Father, Help me to walk in holiness, faith, obedience, and spiritual authority.
