DIVINE CONNECTION DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY OLADELE T•E
THEME: THE PATTERN FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE!
TEXT: [NKJV] COLOSSIANS 3:22
"Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God."

Faithful service is not determined by who is watching you; it is determined by the integrity of your heart and the consciousness that God is watching you. One of the clearest tests of character is how we serve when there is no applause, recognition, supervision, or immediate reward. It is relatively easy to perform excellently when people are watching. It is much more revealing to remain diligent, committed, honest, and responsible when nobody appears to be paying attention. This is where true faithfulness is tested.

In our opening Scripture, Paul instructs believers to serve with sincerity of heart and not merely through “eyeservice” which means doing only what is necessary when someone is watching. He warns against serving merely to impress people or gain their approval. Instead, our service must flow from a heart that honors God. One of the dangers of serving for people's approval is that you become discouraged when the applause stops. If your motivation is recognition, lack of recognition will eventually make you frustrated. When God is your primary audience, you can remain faithful even when nobody applauds.

Dear believer, examine the quality of your service. Don't be an eyeservice Christian who is excellent only when somebody is watching. Don't be a men-pleaser who is driven primarily by human approval. Always be a faithful servant whose work is motivated by sincerity, responsibility, excellence, and the fear of God. Whatever God has placed in your hands, handle it well. Whatever responsibility has been entrusted to you, carry it faithfully. Whatever assignment is before you, give it your best. Your current assignment may not be your final destination, but your faithfulness in the present can become preparation for your next level.

PRAYER POINTS:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the privilege of serving You through every responsibility You have entrusted to me.
Father, Deliver me from eyeservice, people-pleasing, laziness, inconsistency, and every wrong motive.
Father, Give me the sincerity of heart and the grace to serve faithfully, diligently, and excellently.
Father, Help me to remain committed even when nobody is watching and to do everything with the consciousness that I ultimately serve You.
Father, Let my character be trustworthy. Let my work bring You glory.
Father, Help me to be faithful in little and faithful in much. May I never allow lack of recognition, delayed rewards, or difficult circumstances to make me abandon my commitment.
Father, Make me a dependable vessel that You can trust with greater responsibilities.
