DIVINE CONNECTION DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY OLADELE T•E
THEME: GET RID OF EVERY WEIGHT!
TEXT: [NKJV] HEBREWS 12:1
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,"

Hebrews 12:1 makes an important distinction between weights and sin. While every sin is a weight, not every weight is necessarily a sin. A weight may be something that is not sinful in itself but has become an obstacle to your spiritual growth, purpose, and destiny. Some people are weighed down by unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, fear, anxiety, worry, guilt, pride, unhealthy relationships, distractions, bad habits, laziness, negative thinking, or past disappointments. Others are carrying the weight of regret over yesterday's failures or the fear of tomorrow's uncertainties. These burdens gradually drain spiritual strength and slow down destiny.
You cannot move forward effectively while constantly looking backward. Every season requires letting go of something before embracing something greater. God cannot fill hands that refuse to release what they are holding onto.

Jesus lovingly invites us in Matthew 11:28: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." One of the greatest weights believers carry is comparison. Comparing your journey with someone else's only produces discouragement. God's assignment for your life is unique, and His timing for your destiny is perfect. Keep your eyes on Jesus, not on people.
Another dangerous weight is unforgiveness. Holding onto offences does more damage to the one carrying them than to the offender. Forgiveness is not approving wrong actions; it is choosing freedom over bondage. The moment you forgive, you remove a heavy burden from your heart.

As this month has been declared your month of Flourishing, understand that flourishing requires pruning. A tree flourishes because unnecessary branches are removed so that nutrients can flow into fruitful branches. Likewise, God sometimes asks us to let go of certain attitudes, relationships, habits, and distractions so we can become more fruitful. Lay every weight at the feet of Jesus. The race is still before you, your destiny is still intact, and your flourishing is still certain. Travel light, trust God completely, and run your race with endurance until you receive the crown He has prepared for you.

PRAYER POINTS:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for calling me into a victorious life.
Father, Give me the grace to let go of everything that slows down my destiny.
Father, Fill me with fresh strength, renewed joy, and unwavering focus.
Father, Help me to run my race with endurance, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith.
Father, Let every obstacle before my flourishing be removed, and may I finish my divine assignment successfully, to the glory of Your name. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
