DIVINE CONNECTION DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY OLADELE T•E
THEME: THIS CAN BE WHERE YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG!
TEXT: [AMP] NUMBERS 14:27
"How long will this evil congregation murmur against Me? I have heard the complaints the Israelites murmur against Me."

One of the greatest mistakes a person can make in life is to allow complaining to become their response to difficult circumstances. This can be where many people get it all wrong. The children of Israel had witnessed the mighty hand of God in Egypt. They had seen plagues strike their enemies while they were preserved. They had experienced deliverance from slavery, crossed the Red Sea, received supernatural provision in the wilderness, and seen the glory of God repeatedly demonstrated in their midst. Yet, despite all these undeniable manifestations of God's power and faithfulness, they still became a people who constantly complained.

There is nothing wrong with recognizing that a situation is difficult. There is nothing wrong with bringing your fears, pain, questions, and concerns before God. The Psalms are filled with prayers where people honestly poured out their hearts before the Lord. But there is a difference between bringing your complaint to God in faith and constantly murmuring against God in unbelief. When you bring your burden to God, you are seeking His help. When you murmur against God, you are questioning His goodness. When you pray, you are expressing dependence upon God. When you complain continually, you can begin to express distrust in God's wisdom, timing, and ability.

Your present situation does not erase God's past faithfulness. If God has helped you before, He is still able to help you again. If He made a way before, He can make another way. If He provided before, He can provide again. If He delivered you before, He is still your Deliverer. Do not allow a present challenge to make you develop a complaining spirit. Be careful what repeatedly comes out of your mouth when life becomes difficult. Complaining can magnify the problem in your heart, while thanksgiving magnifies God. Beloved, perhaps this is where you have been getting it all wrong. Maybe you have spent too much time complaining about what God is already working out. However, God is still faithful. And if you will keep your heart free from murmuring and your mouth filled with faith, thanksgiving, and God's promises, you will be better positioned to see His hand at work in the very situation that once tempted you to complain.

PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You for Your Word today. Please, forgive me in any area where I have allowed murmuring, complaining, or unbelief to control my response to difficult situations.
Father, Help me to remember Your faithfulness at all times.
Father, Let my mouth be filled with faith, thanksgiving, and the confession of Your Word.
