THEME: THE LORD IS A SHIELD FOR YOU!
TEXT: [NKJV] PSALM 3:3
"But You, O LORD, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head."

Life is filled with battles that are sometimes visible and, at other times, completely beyond our natural understanding. There are moments when we face opposition, criticism, rejection, uncertainty, fear, disappointment, and situations that make us wonder how we will come through. Yet, in the midst of every battle, the child of God has a powerful assurance: the Lord Himself is our shield. David made this declaration in Psalm 3 at a time when he was surrounded by enemies and confronted with circumstances that could have overwhelmed him. Rather than focusing on the size of the opposition, David focused on the greatness of his God. He declared, “But You, O LORD, are a shield for me.”

This means that God does not abandon His people in the midst of adversity. He stands between us and the forces that seek to destroy our peace, purpose, progress, and destiny. When God is your shield, you may encounter battles, but the battles will not have the final word over your life. A shield is designed to provide protection. In the same way, God surrounds His people with His presence and preserves them from dangers they may see and those they may never know existed. There are battles God prevents before they reach us, attacks He intercepts before they become destructive, and dangers from which He delivers us without our even realizing it.

The Lord is not merely a shield; He is your shield. David personalized God's protection: “a shield for me.” It is one thing to know that God protects people generally; it is another thing to have a personal confidence that the Almighty is watching over you. Therefore, do not allow fear to control your heart because of what is happening around you. Do not let the threats of men make you forget the power of your God. Your security is not ultimately in human connections, wealth, influence, possessions, or your ability to defend yourself. Your ultimate security is in the Lord.

PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You because You are my shield, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Father, Protect me from every visible and invisible danger.
Father, Shield my life, my family, my purpose, my work, and everything You have committed into my hands.
I hereby declare that I will not live in fear because You are with me.
