THEME: WHEN GOD CORRECTS YOU!
TEXT: [NLT] PROVERBS 3:11
"My child, don't ignore it when the LORD disciplines you, and don't be discouraged when he corrects you."

There are times when God blesses us, promotes us, opens doors for us, and gives us pleasant experiences. However, there are also times when God corrects, disciplines, redirects, and reproves us. While we naturally welcome His blessings, we must also learn to appreciate His corrections. God’s correction is not a sign that He has rejected you; it is often evidence that He loves you and is committed to your growth. Our text says, “My child, don’t ignore it when the LORD disciplines you, and don’t be discouraged when he corrects you.” Notice the language God uses: “My child.” His correction comes from the heart of a Father toward His child.

A loving father does not watch his child walk toward danger without intervening. He corrects because he sees what the child may not yet see. In the same way, God sometimes corrects us because He sees the consequences of a wrong attitude, decision, habit, relationship, or direction before we fully recognize them. One of the most dangerous responses to correction is to ignore it. When God reveals something that needs to change, we should not harden our hearts. We should not justify what God is asking us to abandon. We should not compare ourselves with others and say, “But everyone else is doing it.”

God is not merely interested in giving you what you want; He is interested in making you who He wants you to become. There are things that God must remove from us before He can entrust certain things to us. There are attitudes that must be corrected before greater responsibilities can be carried well. There are habits that must be surrendered before certain doors can be entered with wisdom. There are lessons that must be learned before certain levels of influence can be sustained. Therefore, do not despise the process. The correction you are experiencing today may be preparing you for the responsibility, influence, and blessings of tomorrow. So, when God corrects you, let Him train you. When He redirects you, follow Him. When He exposes something that needs to change, humble yourself. When He convicts you, respond quickly. And when He disciplines you, remember that you are still His child.

PRAYER POINTS:
Father, thank You because Your correction is an expression of Your love for me.
Father, Give me a humble and teachable heart that will not resist Your instruction.
Father, Help me to recognize Your correction through Your Word and the leading of Your Spirit.
Father, Deliver me from pride, stubbornness, self-justification, and every attitude that makes me resistant to correction.
Father, Help me to learn from every instruction, become wiser through every discipline, and grow stronger in my walk with You.
Father, Make me a humble, teachable, obedient, and spiritually mature child who responds rightly whenever You correct me.
