THEME: WHAT WAS NAILED TO THE CROSS!
TEXT: [NKJV] COLOSSIANS 2:14
"Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."

The cross of Jesus Christ represents one of the greatest demonstrations of God's love, mercy, and redemptive power toward humanity. At the cross, Jesus did not merely suffer physical pain; He accomplished a spiritual work that forever changed the position of everyone who believes in Him. Paul tells us that Christ "wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us" and "took it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
This raises an important question: What exactly was nailed to the cross? The Bible is revealing that the record that stood against us because of sin was dealt with through the finished work of Christ. Sin had created a debt that humanity could not independently settle. The demands of righteousness exposed our guilt and demonstrated our inability to make ourselves right with God through our own efforts. But when Jesus went to the cross, He dealt decisively with what stood against us.

The cross became the place where our condemnation was answered by Christ's sacrifice. What we could not remove by ourselves, Christ removed. What we could not settle by ourselves, Christ settled. What stood against us was taken out of the way. Therefore, the believer must not continue to live as though the cross accomplished nothing. Jesus did not die so that we would remain permanently defined by our past. He did not give His life so that we would continually carry the burden of condemnation that He came to remove. His death and resurrection provide the foundation for our forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and new life in Christ.

The same Christ who took away the record against us also calls us to walk in holiness, obedience, and newness of life. We should therefore respond to the cross with gratitude, faith, and a transformed life. The question is no longer, "Can I save myself?" The answer is already settled: Jesus has done what we could never do for ourselves. The appropriate response is to believe Him, receive His grace, walk in obedience, and continually live with the consciousness that our redemption is anchored in His finished work. The cross is God's declaration that the price has been paid. What stood against you has been dealt with. What condemned you has been answered by Christ. What separated you from God has been addressed through His sacrifice. Therefore, do not live like someone who has no redemption. Live in the reality of what Christ has accomplished!

PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ. Thank You because Christ has dealt with everything that stood against me and has opened the way for me to enjoy redemption, forgiveness, and new life in Him.
Father, Help me to continually walk in the reality of what Christ has accomplished for me.
Father, Let my life reflect the power and victory of the cross, and keep me from returning to the bondage from which You have delivered me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
