DIVINE CONNECTION DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY OLADELE T•E
THEME: WALKING IN PRAISE!
TEXT: [NKJV] ACTS 3:8-9
"So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God. [9] And all the people saw him walking and praising God."

Acts 3 introduces us to a man who had been unable to walk from birth. He was carried daily to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he depended on alms from those who entered the temple. His condition had become a familiar sight to the people around him. For years, he had been known by his limitation. But one day, his story changed. Peter and John encountered him, and instead of giving him silver and gold, they gave him something far greater which was the intervention of the name and power of Jesus Christ. Peter said: “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” Immediately, strength entered his feet and ankles. The man did not merely stand; he leaped, walked, entered the temple, and praised God. What a transformation!

Notice the progression in our text: “Leaping up, stood and walked… walking, leaping, and praising God.” His feet received strength, and his mouth received a reason to praise. True praise is often born out of the recognition of what God has done, what He is doing, and what He is capable of doing. When you understand that your life is a product of God's mercy, you will never run out of reasons to praise Him. You may not have everything you desire yet, but you have countless reasons to thank God.

The man in Acts 3 did not merely praise God for a few seconds at the gate. His entire movement became an expression of praise: “Walking, leaping, and praising God.” In other words, he walked in praise. This month, God is calling us beyond praising Him only when things are convenient. We must learn to praise Him while we wait, Praise Him while we pray, Praise Him while we trust, Praise Him when the answer comes, Praise Him when the journey is difficult and Praise Him when the testimony is still developing. Praise is not merely a reaction to a miracle; praise is also an expression of faith in the God who performs miracles. When you praise God in difficult seasons, you are declaring that your circumstances do not determine God's worthiness. If there is anything God would have you do this season, it is for you to start walking in praise.
