TEXT: [NKJV] DEUTERONOMY 31:6
"Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you."
Fear is one of the greatest enemies of faith because it magnifies the opposition while minimizing the presence and power of God. Fear has a way of making a person focus more on what could go wrong than on the God who is with them. It makes challenges appear bigger than they really are and can cause a person to retreat from opportunities, responsibilities, relationships, assignments, and even promises that God has placed before them. This is why God repeatedly told His people, “Do not fear” and “Do not be afraid.”
In our text, Moses was preparing the children of Israel for a major transition. They were about to enter the Promised Land, but they would encounter nations, battles, obstacles, and situations that could naturally produce fear. Yet God did not tell them that there would be no enemies. He did not tell them that there would be no battles. He did not tell them that the journey would be completely without challenges. Instead, He gave them something far greater which was the assurance of His presence. The reason you have to get rid of fear is because of the assurance of God's presence that you have secured. Sometimes, fear comes because you are looking at your limitations instead of God's unlimited ability. But when you become conscious of God's presence, your perspective changes.
You may not know everything that is ahead, but you know who is going ahead of you. You may not know how every battle will be fought, but you know who is with you in the battle. You may not know how every need will be met, but you know the God who is your Provider. You may not know how every door will open, but you know the One who opens doors no one can shut. God's commitment to you is not temporary. He does not abandon you when circumstances become difficult. God does not withdraw His presence because you have entered a season you have never experienced before. Beloved, get rid of fear because God is with you. The journey ahead may require courage. The assignment may require faith. The next level may require you to step beyond what is familiar. But you are not going alone. The Lord your God is going with you. Therefore, arise in faith. Move forward in courage. Trust God completely and refuse to allow fear to keep you from experiencing what God has prepared for you.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You for the assurance of Your presence. Thank You because You are with me, and You have promised never to leave me nor forsake me.
Father, I reject every form of fear that has attempted to control my thoughts, decisions, emotions, and actions. Father, Help me to keep my eyes on You rather than on the challenges around me.
Father, Give me strength where I am weak, courage where I am afraid, and faith where I am uncertain.
Father, Let the consciousness of Your presence become stronger in me than the consciousness of every opposition.
Father, Because You are with me, I will not retreat in fear. I will advance in faith, walk in courage, and experience Your faithfulness in every area of my life.
