THEME: GOD'S RESPONSE TO PRAISE!
TEXT: [NKJV] 2 CHRONICLES 20:22
"Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated."
One of the greatest expressions of faith is praising God before you see the manifestation of what you are believing Him for. It is easy to praise God after the victory. It takes faith to praise Him while the battle is still raging. Judah praised God before the enemies were defeated. This teaches us that biblical praise is not necessarily dependent on favourable circumstances. Praise is a declaration of confidence in the character of God. Praise helps us remember who God is in the midst of what we are facing. The problem may be big, but God is bigger. The opposition may be strong, but God is stronger. The door may appear closed, but God remains the One who opens doors. The situation may seem impossible, but nothing is impossible with God. Praise does not deny the existence of the battle. It magnifies the One who is greater than the battle.
The most beautiful part of this account is that Judah's victory did not come primarily through their military strength but through God because He fought for them. The enemies who gathered against Judah became victims of God's intervention. This is a powerful reminder that there are battles you cannot win by human strength, wisdom, connections, or strategies. There are situations where your best response is to trust God completely and allow Him to do what only He can do. This does not mean that praise replaces obedience, wisdom, work, or responsible action. Rather, it means that our ultimate confidence for victory must remain in God. When God takes over a battle, He can produce results that human strength could never manufacture.
Beloved, don't allow the presence of a battle to become the absence of your praise. There may be enemies around you, but there is a greater God above you. There may be things you cannot control, but there is a God who remains in control. There may be battles you cannot fight, but there is a God who can fight for you. Praise Him before the victory. Praise Him during the battle. Praise Him after the victory. Let your praise become a declaration that your confidence is in God and not in circumstances.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You because You are good, faithful, mighty, and worthy of all praise. I choose to praise You regardless of what I am facing. Help me never to allow my circumstances to silence my worship.
Father, arise and fight every battle that is beyond my strength. Set divine ambushes against every opposition standing against Your purpose for my life. Turn every difficult situation into a testimony of Your faithfulness.
Father, Give me the grace to trust You while I wait, praise You while I am in the battle, and glorify You when the victory comes. Let my life continually become an expression of praise to Your name.
