THEME: THE LORD IS YOUR EVERLASTING LIGHT!
TEXT: [NKJV] ISAIAH 60:19
"The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory."
Acquainting yourself with God is not optional; it is a necessity for every believer. You have a long way to go with God, and your journey with Him does not end with what you experience in this present life. Your relationship with God has an eternal dimension. Therefore, you must know Him, walk with Him, trust Him, and continually acknowledge Him as your everlasting Light. God is not merely a source of light; God Himself is light. Scripture declares, “God is light and in Him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5). This means that when you genuinely walk with God, you are walking with the One who dispels darkness, gives direction, reveals what is hidden, and makes the path ahead visible. The world in which we live is filled with darkness. There are uncertainties, confusion, deception, disappointments, pressures, temptations, and circumstances capable of making people lose their sense of direction.
Many have been silenced by the darkness around them. Some have lost their joy, some their hope, some their courage, and some their sense of purpose. But the child of God does not have to be governed by the darkness of this world. In John 8:12, Jesus said: “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Notice the connection between following Jesus and having light. When you stay connected to God, you do not have to navigate life by human wisdom alone because You already have divine direction available to you. Isaiah 60:19 presents a powerful picture of the future glory of God's people: the sun will no longer be their light by day, neither will the brightness of the moon be their source of illumination at night, because the LORD Himself will be their everlasting Light.
There are lights that can go out. Human relationships can change. Opportunities can disappear. Systems can fail. Resources can diminish. People who once helped you may not always be available. What looked certain yesterday may become uncertain tomorrow. But the Lord does not change and as long as He doesn't change, your everlasting light cannot go out. When God becomes your Light, you have a source that circumstances cannot extinguish. When the way is unclear, He gives direction. When darkness surrounds you, He gives illumination. When you do not know what to do, He can show you the way. When you are surrounded by confusion, His Word can bring clarity. Even when you cannot see the entire road ahead, you can trust the One who sees the end from the beginning. The sun may set, the moon may disappear, human help may fail, and circumstances may change, but your Light remains. Let God be your Light today, tomorrow, and throughout eternity.
PRAYER POINTS:
Father, I thank You for being my everlasting Light. I acknowledge that without You, I cannot successfully navigate this life.
Father, Illuminate my path, give me divine direction, and deliver me from every form of darkness, confusion, deception, and distraction.
Father, Help me to know You more deeply and to walk closely with You. Let Your Word continually guide my decisions, and let Your Spirit lead me in the way that pleases You.
Father, Where there is darkness around me, let Your light shine. Where there is confusion, give me clarity. Where there is fear, give me courage. Where there is discouragement, restore my hope.
